Company Registration Process
You speak — we listen! Then we develop an action plan tailored specifically to you and your situation. The full turnkey company registration process in Poland takes approximately 5–7 business days, while changes may take over a month.
Therefore, it is essential to clearly discuss everything before starting the registration — including which functions will be performed by the owners and which by the manager. This has a significant impact on taxation, liability, and the legal status of your business in Poland.
We verify the uniqueness of your company name, select the appropriate business activity codes, and submit the documents to the court.
We file the necessary paperwork to obtain your VAT and EU VAT (VAT-UE) numbers. We assist you at the bank or open the account on your behalf through a power of attorney.
You can sign contracts, issue invoices to clients, hire employees, and more. Of course, we will continue to support you by promptly addressing any arising issues.

How to Start a Company in Poland
By partnering with Business Start, you can complete the company registration process remotely. However, you will need to visit Poland to obtain a PESEL number (Polish identification number) and an electronic signature.
With this electronic signature, after your company is registered, you will be able to submit documents to government authorities from anywhere in the world. This allows you to run your business without being physically present in Warsaw.
At the time of registration, you must choose a legal address. We can provide you with an address in Warsaw or assist you in finding one in another city.
Before starting your business, we thoroughly discuss your situation and tailor an optimal plan. You will receive detailed information on taxation and the legal responsibilities of business participants in Poland. We also cover how to legally transfer money from the company and which countries you can do this in. Many factors affect this, including your tax residency status. Consultations can be held via video or audio conference, or in our office.
You can obtain a PESEL number either by physically coming to Poland or remotely. Regardless of the option you choose, we will assist you at every step.
You can obtain an electronic signature either in Warsaw or at the Polish embassy in your city. The procedure takes about 10 minutes. All you need to do is visit the government office with your passport — we will handle the paperwork for you.
We submit the documents to the court remotely. You will sign the prepared documents using your electronic signature.
This process is also done remotely. You sign all documents electronically.
We handle the signing of all necessary applications to obtain VAT and EU VAT (VAT-UE) numbers.
Key Requirements
Foreigners who want to start companies in Poland must meet two main requirements — they need to have an electronic signature and must not have any criminal record. These are the two most important factors for registering a legal entity.
An electronic signature can only be obtained if you have a Polish identification number called PESEL.
You do not have to be physically present in Poland to register a company. Thanks to the electronic signature, it is possible to complete the registration remotely.
It is also essential to clearly understand from the very beginning who will perform which functions in the company.
Polish government authorities are very taxpayer-friendly, so you can be the owner of multiple companies, as well as an employee or a sole proprietor.
Looking at the entire process as a whole, it is important to consider whether you want to obtain a temporary residence permit (Karta Pobytu). This depends on your role in the company (owner, manager, employee).
Is the Pole’s Card or Temporary Residence Permit Necessary?
A frequently asked question among future owners concerns the documents required in Poland. If you choose to establish a limited liability company (sp. z o.o.), no additional documents are necessary.
However, an important detail often overlooked is this: if you are a foreigner (excluding Ukrainian citizens for now) and you perform managerial functions (e.g., president, prezes), you are allowed to stay in Poland for no more than 180 days without a special work permit. There are solutions to this, but to assist you properly, we need to understand your overall situation.
Documents such as the Pole’s Card, temporary residence permit on certain grounds, and other permits can help you perform managerial duties without special work permits or additional documents.
